It's a great site and has some good ideas. When the leagues start to come into play with prizes you will attract a lot of people. Atm console frag is just like decerto with a smaller community.

Also, ladders will never get active as it's easy for people to find scrims on forum so again, without an active forum their is no need for people to leave this site. How is Gamerhut doing since the reopen of decerto?

Gamerhut is down for coding....so not much happening there. I'm working on new audiences a fair bit Chugz. It's the fact that I know DE players are obsessed with tournaments and prizes, so I was looking to them to really back the initial get-go of it. A lot of people have been honest about what they feel, and the main feedback I feel as though I'm getting is "We'll play your tournaments and take your prizes, but we can't be arsed to put in some effort to get it going". This isn't something unique to DE, it's everywhere these days.

Another thing I'm trying to do with CF is bring the PS3 and 360 together as well as encourage new players to sign up and get involved with competitive. For instance I'll be interviewing some successful players, asking them how they got involved, how long they've been playing and best tips for people who want to get involved with competitive etc. My first interview of this sort will be with TCM Dopedgoat, as he obviously has a lot of experience and he's older (So older gamers looking to get involved can relate to him) It's only then that competitive will have a real figure of people that companies will take more notice. Another thing is, DE is fundamentally a COD community. I want CF to be a bit of everything and to get people talking to one another. It seems so segmented and no-one wants to budge on it.....but hey, DE represents the minority of gamers in a sense, so CF will continue ahead. However, it would be a faster and much easier process getting more companies on board with prizes if the EU COD competitive scene got behind it.

That's what I kept trying to tell decerto mate. Play on our ladders, post on our forums and it'll make the advertising SO much easier to bigger companies which will then get bigger prizes. You just have to look at GB to see that high traffic gets decent prizes. People seem to think sites like CG / CF will get 10,000 dollar tournaments easy as anything. I hope they do realise GB probly gets 1mill hits a month hence advertisers wanting to advertise on them.

It's funny though. Everyone bitches about GB yet they play on their site for prizes : / CG had Steelseries tournament, we got 8 headsets, we gave out 4 to see how the community would react and obviously as noone stayed on to play, we still have 4 headsets. Do antoher tournament? Why would we bother if noone sticks around to help us? Again as I said, these will be used at a later date whn we announce a CG user tournament.

Unless Decerto makes ladders/tournaments its member will never benefit from its activity.

I think your problem is that you want a community and a tournament/league website. Unfortunately you can't really have both.

Chugz what your saying isn't correct. You cant expect because of 1 tournament that people will suddenly stick around and discuss the same topics that are on another forum? As far as 'trying to tell Decerto'. Basically what you wanted to do was just disolve Decerto inside CG, how would that help anyone? You guys get an insane amount of hits, if you can't turn that into sponsorships and deals the thats your problem, why would we want to just chuck everything hard we worked for away for nothing?

The thing that is unique about Decerto is that we don't censor anything, if there is a tournament on CF then we cover that, if there is one on CG we cover that etc etc. If everyone just used a tournament website then they wouldnt hear about those other tournaments.

Why can't you? works fine on ps3 and worked fine on Socom

There is just way to many sites to choose from for 360.

    Emo, CG section plox.

SocomBattle use to work. Back on socom 2 where their was 2-3k user online a night, 200+ teams of 16 playing on a ladder/posting on a forum. If decerto was to make a ladder system now, it'd work as you have the community. If the community ALL moved to CG / CF it'd work too.

Chillaz, until CG activity picks up either with Decerto teams or our own users, these will never become available. Maybe on our upcoming P2P scheme where winners over 12 weeks could earn a potential 1-2k I'll think of including them as an added bonus.

    Until then.

I'll say it, all the users of decerto can go fuck themselves.

You eat our food, drink our win and come and go when you please

Look, what Emo has written is spot on, you can't just expect us to leave this forum for the sake of MAYBE securing extra prizes, it's up to the people running these tournament sites to keep us engaged on their site.

Great, CG ran a tournament with some decent prizes at the end, but what have you done to keep us engaged to CG?

    You're sort of right Mike,

I don't want it to be a community like Decerto, where you have the in's and out's of every team change. 1. You guys do a great job of it 2. it is too time consuming when you are trying to run a tournament site.

what I do want though is somewhere where players chat, talk and intergrate. I don't want it so people play a tournament, never speak again and that's that. I feel the real big thing we need to get noticed is some sort of intergration with eachother. At the moment, we're like different tribes or something and no-one talks to one another. Each has his little tribe meeting place, and no-one ventures out.

What I want is for the tribes to still have their only little tribe HQs(Halo players H3F, GOW their forums and COD, Decerto) but at the same time have CF, which acts as a central location for all. This won't be easy to achieve for sure, but I think this will be the real breakthrough. I also want it so new players feel as though they can talk to players who are well established. I want to do articles that interview established players with the newcomer in mind, someone who wants to get involved but just doesn't feel welcomed and gets flamed....

This is naturally the next progression in my mind, and this is also why I'm not competing with Decerto unlike GH, which seems to be head on. I see it that DE does a job well, but I want to see CF as the interim.

Hopefully this makes sense to people as I'm fooking knackered and cannot type for toffee tonight.

So essentially you want ConsoleFrag to pick up from where Matchbox360 left off (maybe without the LAN bits though it would be awesome)?

The thing is CG is bigger than most people think on here and it would be able to secure alot more prizes given the chance with a thriving 360 and ps3 community. He has tried everything to keep people interested so thats a bit of a stupid comment, hes made numerous threads asking what people want he has taken those ideas on board and done a majority of them. People wanted leagues, so CG did leagues and nobody used them.

There has been Cash prizes offered and still nothing, there is not really anything more they can do

Just give it some time once you guys start the tournys up i am almost 100% positive that CF will be full of this community. Just Keep at it and dont drop like past sites, (TangoDown, PlayCompetitive)

LANs are all part of the planning mate and have been well thought out. I already have spoken to someone who can provide the consoles for us ( At the moment, I worked out around 60 consoles for the first LAN event)

This however, is not the focal point for the time being. The saying, "Don't run before you can walk" comes to mind :)

That's what they're planning with the ECL website, and if they do create online tournaments they'll have the financial backing to do so without the requirement of a minimum level of hits. It seems there's a possibility that a few things may occur in the near future that could change a lot anyway.

The hits steelseries was receiving through the tournaments was not enough. They saw CG's tournament more of a money waster than a money maker so until it picks up decided to pull from CG. CG makes NO MONEY at.. All of the money goes back into the site You cannot expect the owner to be getting prizes out of his own pocket every month to keep people happy. PS3 side gets monthly tournaments on all games. Its as active, if not more active than decerto's forum. Gamebattles, look how active that is till only provides the odd tournaments. More frequent everyone must see but not weekly run ones.

All CF / CG was asking for was for people to post on our forums, use the ladders to make getting prizes EASIER. No site tbh even if decerto tried now would be able to get all the prizes this community craves.

No intention of dropping out bud,

Thing is, to get the site exactly how we want means some SERIOUS investment from myself, both financially and time. I just want to make sure the community is aware of this, gets behind and ensures it is a success.

Why have we been hammered by numerous people on behalf of the PS3 community to set up a website for them then?

Yeh I know about Tugsys set-up mate, and I tell ya I'm looking forward to it. The more we have, the better. I can only assume he has the backing from someone like the PwR management (Heard they have plenty of $?) to offer prizes without the hits, or he won Euromillions :p.

By the way Loco, is EGL still going or has or gone dormant or totally dead? Thought the initial plan was to have had an EGL in 2010 by now...

Because like a "sheep" it seems "cool" to be playing what all the big teams are playing. The big teams speak word of mouth about decerto and all the ps3 teams want to be "pro" and also be a "decerto" team.

I believe Imperial would have alot to do regarding ps3 teams wanting a section over here.

Decerto wouldn't be what it is today if it didn't have a backing of alot of the bigger teams. Just how CG was made. With the correct amount of community support anything can happen. All CG members were apart of gamebattles before we broke away.

I'm tired, I dont actually get where im going with this post lol

You have been asked by people who want to play ps3 competitively, 80% of CG ps3 just enjoy the community and playing matches their way with limited restrictions.

Immature ? Are you having a laugh lol, i'll give you immature if you really want me to.

He said in his initial post "i want to know if i'm wasting my time" and I told him I think he is.

There's nothing immature about it so stop kicking up a fuss about nothing.

But would that not render CF as pointless?

Gamerbase are now sponsoring Dignitas (announced shortly), so there's definitely going to be new opportunities for some competitions. As for EGL, Astro have confirmed their support but it depends on how Lime wish to proceed.

How is he wasting his time? The Leagues, p2p, other tournies sound amazing. He will receive LOADS of interest when they get going.. I just dunno if the forums will be active.

The ONLY reason why CG is active is because PS3 players have nowhere else to go apart from GB, and that explains itself.
