Siberia v2's + Mixamp - Chat not working!?

Just received my siberia v2s in the post, and the chat is not working....

I have tested the mic on the PC and it works, I even bought a new astro chat lead... just seems to be making a crackling noise and nothing happening?

Would this by my mixamp fucked?

as in 'chat' you mean your sound isn't working?

Get a mixamp then a pair of headphones and separate mic. Headsets have bad sound quality and are very prone to breaking. THis way if your mic breaks you can replace it for 6 quid rather than spend 70 on a brand new headset.

Mixamp then this and this or this - I use a similar set up and it makes my a30's sound horrendous in comparison.

No I have sound ... Just mic isn't working at all.. Yet works in PC etc.
