    apeX in control

Despite disrupted travel plan and next to no sleep, the pre tournament favourites are still looking good for their money and it'd take a daring man to bet against the current Reflex champions. Their day started off with a routine match up and it wasn't until they came up against Total eSports Circuit that they were really made to sweat. TEC had already upset apeX.Germany and seemed to be keen to complete an apeX double. NatB and friends pushed apeX to their limits in a five game series but in the end the reigning champions just had too much in their locker and saw the game out. The final match up of the day saw Fariko.Yin take on apeX in an extremely close game. apeX were definitely hitting their stride though and despite every map having a nail bitingly close ending, apeX saw out the series 3-0.

    Pure XTC

One of the dark horses of the tournament, XTC faced off against Infused in one of the first matches of the day. XTC had already begun to impress online and with a line up of new talent, they took the game to Infused and either surprised people at home, or achieved what a few believed to be possible by beating the veteran outfit. The game was extremely close and based on the reaction of the Infused players, this was a minor blip in their tournament progress, but for XTC this was still a land mark victory and one I'm sure the players will be talking about for a while now.

    TEC-en Down

Total eSports Circuit are another underdog team who have shone so far at Reflex. They started to pick up some momentum early on, and after taking care of apeX Germany, they advanced on to take on apeX.Pro. Most people just assumed this was another poor apeX Germany performance when in fact it was because TEC are actually pretty good. They then faced off against Foreign.X who they also swept aside. For TEC this now meant a show down against apeX.Pro, giving them the chance to really show off what they're made of and really took the game to the tournament favourites. In the end apeX had enough to see off the challengers. If TEC can perform as they did on day one then I imagine we'll be seeing them in the latter stages of the tournament and maybe even see a rematch against apeX. There was even talk that the TEC line up might boast some stars of the future.

    Are MythiX Back?

Undoubtedly this will be answered today. When the new MythiX team was announced for Reflex everyone saw Agonie and Krnage but then there was a somewhat resounding “who?” when it came to their two new team mates. MythiX started Saturday in fine form and soon sent LLL and ZEN packing. They now face off against Infused killers XTC for a place in the top 3. I'm sure people will be quick to point out their somewhat easy looking route to the final but I'm sure we'll soon see what MythiX are made of on day two of ReflexGT.

    Foreign X topple the Spanish

A huge following doesn't necessarily lead to success is what we learned here. With their whole nation behind them the Spaniards put up a solid fight but in the end they were bested, just, by the new look Foreign X team. The match was dogged with internet issues that were causing clear frustration for the Foreign X team, as it did always seem to be at a very inconvenient time for them. In the end though a combination of skill and experience was the difference between the two teams.
