8th and matty had his moments mate
No, that's nonsense, Alex. For the organisers like Xorta, yeah he had to enforce the rules. For you and your team however, no, you could have just applied logic and let them have the map or just allowed them to use the Snipers with Ext Mags. Sportsmanship is often when you allow your opponent to let something in the rules slide because you think it's fair in that situation. It was unnecessary to take that map. You also play with rules in scrims.
To give you an example, a football player has had someone close to them die the day before. They're wearing a t-shirt under their shirt that says something dedicated to them. They're already on a yellow card, score and take their top off revealing the t-shirt. The letter of the law says they should be booked and therefore sent off. Does the ref send them off in that situation? Not everything is black and white and in a situation like this I don't agree it was necessary. Of course their use of snipers was disrespectful but if I were you or your team I'd have just played the map out. If I was Xorta then yeah, I'd have made the same decision because he had to.
Xorta makes the rules, referee's need to enforce them when someone brings it to their attention... i don't enforce anything. why would you say that? i am not the organiser or referee... right?
What a load of bullshit. Them using extended mags did not at all affect the outcome of the match therefore it was just you being petty and pedantic.
Coverage on Decerto was good this time round, was nice to see interviews up every few hours or so. Definitely need to get someone to do this for you @Mellow while you are at EGL.
Apparently T1 was using Juiced as his death streak against us on stream
Good write up aand good read!
I enjoyed watching this LAN, the comms were really good!
Is this praise? I never knew what this felt like before.
Sorry, I'll revert back to the standard complaining and abuse in future.
i am sorry for not being clear enough, lets blame cultural and lingual gaps.
again, i feel truly sorry for foreign being robbed of their victory on CTF while they were clearly in the lead. I acknowledge that. But people need to understand that I can not standby and see rules being offended. Yes, it is the worst situation to start talking about breaking rules, i know that. Extended mags on snipers while having a 5-0 lead on CTF will not affect the game that much.
But again, it is about choices people make and the consequences they should accept. Foreign chose to use extmags while there was no need to use it. It then came to my attention and at that point, it is out of my hand. I cannot standby and watch something happen that is out of order, as big or as small as it seems. I am very predictable in these type of situations and will do what i am allowed to do and should do. Even though I know I do not have to do it. This is principal mannered (correct English?) behaviour. Trying to live by principals can be hard sometimes, i know, been there done that. But I also know that defend-able (/explainable) principles will take you a long way, as long as they are defend-able. This one i can defend. Even though it seems to conflict with the principle of sportsmanship. In my opinion it would have been sportsmanship to not use use extmags snipe. Others would call it sportmanship to not bring the situation to the attention of the refs.
For improvement sake; add to the rules a clause/rule like there is in soccer offside. If it is not affecting the game, it could be allowed. But OTH, it will create room for heated debates on LAN in the future ... I dont mind either way what is stated in the rules, as long as they are'clearly stated and applied unbiased.
i would have had no problems with anyone pointing that out to the refs and us forfeiting the map.
Think we won the map anyway, although if he'd been using it on the last map i'd have been mad! lol
T1 probs isn't used to dying so many times, or getting turned on @Superhero
Please stop trying to justify the retarded decision that YOU made. Extended mags on a sniper would have put foreign at a disadvantage meaning that your decision was done out of pure desperation. I found that your decision was a snide move however now that you try and justify it, you come across as more of a Doyle than ever.
Brainiac is the best troll on this website.
Mellow strong comparison with death and gaming.
Braniac trolled Foreign and is continuing to troll the rest of UK with his mentality. He knows he could not get away with it at EGL because we have sportsmanship over here, across the board. These moments give him the kicks that his teams can't provide.
Was flat out disrespectful and unsportsmanlike like to pull a sniper out anyway, fair play to Braniac he got the last laugh.
I agree with you there. People are making it out like Foreign have been royally shafted but it was lame to do that anyway. Just mocking their opponents.
Does anyone know if the bracket was changed overnight? I definitely worked out we'd play 3DMax in LBR2 but when we turned up at the event the next day we had to play French Frogs and then dzs apeX.Ger ended up playing 3DMax just for T16 lol
Decent knowledge on the situation.
in one sense yes it was, but i (not sure about jake) wanted to see how it would run on lan for snd having seen crookz use it online on underground snd and be so effective.
This is our "fault", not braniacs, xortas, farikos or even sportsmanship for that matter. But its pretty clear that by 1 forfeit, placements can be messed up that bad and therefore perhaps the tournament system of groups should be reconsidered.
It's sad that the thing I'm most annoyed about from that LAN is not getting to play Underground SnD...
true that, explained it many times to WannaB that I am the better troll ...
Very good lan to watch. Best of teams one it, God job Apex
