My connection is wired and i live less than 1 mile from my local exchange.
phone up sky and ask them to put 'gaming profile' on your cnxn, it will lower your ping to make it more suited to online gaming
@Goldz did what u said and they have put gaming profile on my cnxn and this is what i get now http://www.speedtest.net/result/2015254335.png its still fucking shit.
My con is awful http://vvcap.net/db/zMx3GD2w4D3kIpTNuoQo.htp How am i still better than you if your playing later after the footy and you need a pick up inv me
If you had 300+ ping you would be on 1 bar so its clearly not that bad. Test your ping in cmd its more accurate.
Yes this is obviously my ping at it's worst with my brother on his xbox etc, but at best my ping is around 12-135. Plus, I am on a red bar a lot of the time, ask anyone I play with.
Will BT do this? Was told by the engineer that installed my router and that; If my router disconnections they will lower my connection as they think it's a "Fault" with such high speeds? Does this mean I have to ring them every time I get host booted to get it back to what It first was?
No, this is your IP Profile that changes, every time you turn your router off DLM thinks that the line is unstable so it changes the profile to a more stable profile which lowers the speed and increase the signal-to-noise margin. If you want the speed to increase then you can either request an IP Profile reset (no point of doing that, it takes a while) or just let it reset itself which it should to within a week, this is quicker than requesting as that takes 28 days. Leave your router on and don't disconnect it.
