New Decerto Layout - We Need Your Suggestions!

    Although we often get a little stick for our sometimes slow development as a website, we do actually do quite a lot behind the scenes in order to improve and enhance the Decerto experience. We're currently working on a new interface for the front of the website and we need your help and feedback to make it better.

    You all use the website on a regular basis and we want to know what you as a user find both most helpful and most annoying about our current front page. What's not easy enough to find, what gets in the way? How would you change it? What do you wish was there?

    We need to know everything about your front page experience so we can make this next design of Decerto the best it has been. This is your chance to make a difference so if you can help, post below in as much detail as you can and we'll work to try and achieve what is presented. We appreciate any time or effort you put into the feedback.

    We won't be doing ladders and probably not tournaments, so that isn't a viable suggestion.

    Having a sort of "Colour adjusable" in th elayout that every1 can chooses whatever coloer they want liek blue, red , gee, as its only white now? :)

    More emphasis on the 'What's new' button, I swapped between styles so it's easier to access but I'm sure I can't be the only person that clicks on that as the first point when I'm on the site.

    Also if you do go for the more colours aspect, please keep an option to keep the colours at a minimum too, some of us use the website at work so it's better for not attracting attention when it isn't bright and fancy.

    Home page needs to be a bit more structured IMO.
    Like having a smaller box with all the latest news, saves you constantly scrolling down to find what you're looking for, so I'd say a news box with smaller text to make recent news and announcements just a bit easier to navigate.

    @Emotion A more visible update of the DE twitter, I honestly don't think the ability to comment on the main page is needed as there's barely anything useful ever put there, more sub-forums, a darker and lighter version of the decerto skin, and a much, much more obvious guide to decerto for newcomers - not what it contains, but that they would see it when they first join the site.

    I want the old Black option back and also do a teamliquid style were you have streams on the side of top player so they get more views from the community helping them out, that is all.

    Maybe put some links on top of the webpage whenever a showmatch is on between 2 top teams because the amount of times there is a big game but people don't even know about it. I don't have twitter which probably doesn't help but just putting a little banner type thing on top to the stream would be a good idea imo.

    This. Either an App or a mobile version: if I'm on my phone (GSII) trying to post anything, the typing gets extremely strange, hard to erase things etc. and it's not my phones problem, it seems like everyone has that.

    Maybe rearrange the frontpage posts? A column with "important" team/roster updates, a column with announcements, etc.

    And yes, try and implement something which forces new members to read the instructions, hopefully that'll prevent all the unnecessary threads.
