Not entirely sure how the whole LAN Lobby system works, but I'm guessing it's not going to be used as all the xbox's will need to be connected to each other, not the same network, right? If I'm wrong just let me know @M3lm0th
They all just need to be connected to the same network i believe, hence the term LAN (local area network) What's the problem? @Dann
oic at EGL4 & 5 they were all on separate connections? But how would that stop you joining someone else's game?
Not sure how EGL4 was set up, whether they had each Xbox set up to connect to a switch with DHCP enabled handing out IP addresses or if they just linked each Xbox together using an ethernet cable, genuinely have no idea. @Mellow or other EGL person to confirm.
Yeah, but when you go to join a LAN game, everyone's lobbies will show up? And seeing as there is no xbox live, you can't put it on invite only...
No it would just be like the Black Ops ECL's where you would only join your opponents lobby and just hope idiots don't fuck games up.
your an idiot. If they use the system link at EGL7 then the only people that can join your lobby is people at Lan, i.e like it was at every event on blackops
LAN is all offline... You're all connected to the same network, hence you can join each others games... But you're not signed in so the only people who can join your games are the people on your network. At EGL4 each station was separate and not connected to each other I believe, so you could only join the game created by 1 of the 8 people on your station.
No, you're the idiot. What section is this in you cretin. Still didn't answer OP, so i46 isn't going to be LAN, it's going to be the same as EGL5.
Xbox's need to be connected to the same local network in the building. Your not signed into xbox live to use system link, someone hosts a game and your able to join it. Nobody outside i46 or egl would be able to join the session which is what your worrying about
No, it's going to be LAN... Why would it be the same as EGL5, when EGL5 was played online? LAN lobbies are offline, you're not signed in.
Because there are no set stations, everyone at the event is on the same network, so everyone can join each others games, no?
Yeh but it's LAN, people won't bother... You could join other people's games at ECL2 and it was good for things like free-for-alls as they filled up immediately, as far as I know no one joined a game in progress and ruined it. You'd be stupid to do it as you risk being kicked out the event.
like legend said, no one will join as they are playing games at the same time, and you if you did interrupt a game you could be kicked out of the event
Yeh they all come up and it shows who created each game... It's not an issue and it's certainly not like EGL5.
