Higuain is an odd one for me, whenever I see him play, he scores but also seems to squander so many chances. Harsh on the Argie keeper in pens as he went the right way a fair bit but the pens were just too good.
Yea he does, is quite annoying. Although I'm sure in the 09-10 season he had the best shot to goal ratio out of anyone else in the top 5 european leagues.
Over the past two season before last year, where he was injured for a massive portion of it, he was scoring with every 0.6 shots or something ridiculous like that. He's also scored some of the clutchest goals I've ever seen as well, the guys nothing short of a tank when he's fit...
@Dowyy Yes he is amazing but I'll always remember him rounding Lyon's keeper and hitting the post when the goal was at his mercy. That would have sent them through and I'm pretty sure that was the year when it was a Bayern, Inter final. He is still young though and is obviously top drawer and this is proven by his stats and the sheer amount of goals but in my opinion to reach the level of Etoo or (Fat) Ronaldo he should take more of his chances. Just from what I have seen, I don't watch them week in week out but I do watch them every now and then.
Yea that was a shocker, everyone misses them at some point thought, it just happened to be his in the Knockouts of the Champions League. I do think it's kind of amusing how you mention Eto'o as someone he should aspire to when it comes to taking chances as he was notorious for missing easy chances and by all accounts he was such a prolific goalscorer purely because of the amount created for him. I do get what you mean thought, I'll be the first to say Higuain is by no means the finished article but on his day he's one of the most dangerous forwards on the planet and has done nothing but improve season after since since he joined Real...
Erm Mallorca 54 goals in 133 apps all done between the age of 19-24, Barca 108 goals in 145 apps, Inter 33 goals in 67 apps Serie A is notoriously hard to score in. Finally for Cameroon 51 goals in 101 apps.
Did I say anything about his goals per game? Everyone know's Eto'o scored a lot of goals, what I said was he was notorious for missing chances anyone who watched him week in week out at Barca during, and just before, the HERM days will be able to tell you that. I'd also like to point out that Serie A is not a notoriously difficult league to score in anymore, the Italian's aren't the defensive bores everyone makes them out to be, it was only a couple of seasons ago Serie A had more goals scored in that than either of the other two big leagues in Europe.
I still think Etoo is one of, if not the best striker in the world at the minute and in my opinion Higuain has to improve to reach Etoo's level. Also Etoo is the ultimate Big game player, something which Higuain is not(yet)
Anyone watching the Women's World Cup final? 2-2 in 116th minut. japan vs usa. They aren't really good but it's still a fun watch
