Hopefully will introduce 2 disc games otherwise the teams could be cut drastically, hopefully EGL will get an event in for those under 18 before July

I had no idea you made a thread. Either way, we decided the news was worthy of a proper news post.

I don't just think it's just the price people are concerned about. For example for under 18s I'm sure parents are more comfortable with their 15-17 year old going to Blackpool than they would be for Amsterdam etc

The whole 2 disc thing is pretty doubtful to be honest, why would a gaming developer spend excess money producing extra disks with a different age restriction, for a tiny section of their community.

I totally understand that. However many people pin price on it, if parents are worried. Thats something that happens and sadly not a lot we can do about it as we can't pick people up from airports ect.

Don't see how this is destroying the gaming industry?

OT: The 2 disc scenario is a pretty doubtful one.

well alot of players are U18 meaning there will be less than half the teams attending LAN than atm, it wont be the same..

so technically, when this is enforced, we are in effect breaking these rules still, as i highly doubt people will stop buying the game if they cannot attend LAN, so by implementing this rule, what are they actually trying to achieve? its a stupid system really, just another pathetic rule the government seems to think is the next best thing. #fuckthesystem

It wouldn't ruin the gaming industry though would it.

Actually if it was alot of teams attending EEE im sure they could just get a bus and pickup the players from the airport. Sleep a night at the hotel at the airport and a bus comes the day after (or just get a plane on the morning). Haven't thinked about any negatives about this one but just a thought. @ulle @Snakii

That's our community, the gaming industry is a lot bigger than 20 something thousand people on a forum. We're too small for game makers to really care.

No I agree we could do that. However the point i'm making is that we wouldn't be able to watch every player, make sure they check in for flights, get on planes on time ect. Which would be what parents would worry about.

yeah but i mean the competetive scene wont be the same or as big..

Ah fuck, didn't thought about that, anyway this could be getting more people wanna go a LAN with a ride to the LAN. Like people in the age of 15-16-17. As far as i know planes from the UK to Sweden is costing nothing probably the same as for some to a LAN in the UK so could be great.

You're obviously right, the likelihood of a parent spending more money on flying their child abroad when they're worrying about their childs welfare etc it just wouldn't happen thus creating a slight decline in the amount of teams. All would depend on how lenient parents are and for people 18+ money is always an issue. Stupid rules -.-

Bad times when people are upset that they wont be able to go LAN. Get a life.
