@Shizzle yeah you do as they will be BYOC, so need to take own monitor (unless rent), xbox, controller and headset.
@Mellow Can't say it was just WGL players tbh, various DE players who spent a fair while talking to and also having a great time with, whether that was just conversing with them or playing mixed scrims or EnduranceCoD. Think that may have been down to their maturity levels a lot though, as they were mainly SL, proph, Hammers and Bricey. Can't say I would expect the same from a fair few other DE teams/players, judging from how they act in scrims/on these forums anyway.
Wern't you scared Mel was gonna hit you? Moving On, all companies are politics, e.g at i45 WGL/iseries scheduled a live draw for groups etc. EGL announced a livestream of the announcements for upcoming events. i45 got low numbers, but there was no hassle from kids trying to impress thinking they were right and being fanboys. All were mature, got along, had a drink, socialised and gamed together. EGL gets big numbers but have a few more issues with things like streaming, connection drops and other problems. Both iseries and EGL have the goods and their bads.... how about we all GROW UP! and maybe join forces and run some events together in the future and improve together! We are all one big community that needs to progress to grow! Not going to happen with everyone trying to 1up themselves againest the other! Rant Over! Attend 1, Attend Both, Attend None, just stop acting like 5 year olds please!
I saw a few people do this but as said you only got one ethernet per person. Make sure you bring a spare plug extension too, you only get one plug per person.
will xbox mw3 be firday/satudurday again? as i do not want to book to much time of work as i have got loads booked off anyway?
I didn't even know WGL had done a live draw of the groups. It's not nearly as simple as you've put it unfortunately. We're not all trying to achieve the same thing. I agree, there are definite negatives and positives on both accounts though.
so close to EGL7 :/ can see teams not being able to afford 2 events in such a small time but good idea from Iseries, will defo be attending this one!
@Mellow @M3lm0th How about you bang heads together and come up with an event (probably looking black ops 2 now) for both communitys (WGL/DE) that offers everything we could all want? BYOC, TUP, high numbers, big teams, smaller communitys. Maybe also some stuff non-competitive like some presentations for teenagers looking to get into game development etc. (all ideas btw) PUB QUIZ! Sponsorships, companies and 'orgs' coming to watch some new talent socialiseing. The Lot and you can run these together with no one saying events are to close and to expensive to go to both etc. Something to think about? or never going to happen?
So what if three of your teamates are 18 and they buy a TUP ticket, so because im 17 i have to sit in a corner on my own while they are together sounds fun.
@TRAINisAWESOME Sounds overtly complicated, and likely wouldn't be worth the bother at the end of the day. Can see why it'd be easier for people who play WGL in terms of BYOC tickets - but it's partially down to the nature of the users compared to DE ones. As far as how social an event is - you get out as much as you put in. With BYOC if you don't attempt to get into games with other BYOC attendee's, I'd completely agree that it detracts from the atmosphere; but on the other hand if you're constantly able to go around asking other teams / players for scrims and choose to, it can actually be the opposite.
No worries. In other news @Tuna @zMessiah I suppose this widens our criteria for a fourth if we're getting BYOC this time. I have someone in mind.
