Nope, they were 'trialist' teams.. think in the end there was about 5 and whichever made it to the final two of the GS tournament would of become the dignitas team, none did
i remember this. it was our team agents cybers team. it all came down on the game between us 2 teams (gamestop GB). i cant remember what game match it was but it was streamed n we won. after that there was some bs going down. so me n op2 got dropped.
I never remember seeing a proper write up on the dignitas site or you guys actually being on the team page, I do remember seeing your dignitas tags though
Yeah idk where that went if there was one. We were in Dig for a while though, you were even in the team with just me soon after but left http://www.decerto.net/v4/index.php?threads/dignitas-need-3-for-ecl.6527/ http://www.fnatic.com/scene/6921/mw2-dignitas-recruit-vintage.html
It makes for good media and offers the scene the chance at larger sponsorship interest. SK 4K an Dig are supporting players, yes, but their presence at events encourages a positive competitive atmosphere and community growth.
People like to say this a lot, but i'm dubious. I think their presence at events matters little more than the presence of four extra spectators. TCM have been involved in the scene, on and off, for a long time. apeX threw around more money than - correct me if i'm wrong - any console org has before. When Dig had teams on CoD4/MW2 did we suddenly see an influx of players? No. Growth, in my opinion, has mainly come from the entire community's commitment to social media, to YouTube, to streams, and - of course - to the increased frequency, and streamed coverage, of events. Don't get me wrong, if these orgs stuck in the scene from here on out that is obviously going to help top end competition and lower end ambition. It's the inevitably floaty attitude of the players that stops that from happening. I'm not putting up an argument for that being the bane of the community growth, or unacceptable, or any of that shit. I'm just saying that Dig supporting a team for an event - maybe a few events - does precious little for "community growth".
Regardless, congrats to the fellas who've got in. It's a prestigious org and a great personal achievement. I bet Zak was crying with excitement.
See, thats where I disagree. The growth in the community is down to the financial contributions of the organisations and people that populate it, not their dedication to social media. That being said, the additional financial injections (which may not go behind the bar, but are exogenously contributing to the scene's growth) can only offer a rise in both media and corporate interest.
