As part of my content run up to ECL I have been doing various interviews with booked and confirmed teams. I think it's always good for teams to get their voice out there even if there not the most proffesional team, it shows that at LAN you don't have to be super serious and you can go for a laugh. For that reason I have interviewed Rumseys Angels, naturally fronted by former dignitas and TCM captain Marcus 'Rumsey' Rumsey. I sat down with Marcus and his team mates Dave 'Maji' Trewren and Ian 'Enoch' Gough to see how they were preparing (or not as the case may be) for ECL. Mike 'Nova' Jones unfortunately couldn't make it due to being on holiday. Emo: Hi guys, can you introduce yourselves to Decerto? Rumsey: I'm Marcus Rumsey aka Rumsey and I am 29 (yes that old). I am a marketing manager for a TV and media company and just do pretty normal things like play alot of football and getting ****ed. Dave: I'm Dave Trewren aka Maji and I am currently a 21 year old bum weighing up my options. Currently living in sunny Stafford and I like long strolls on the beach. Enoch: My names Ian Gough, from North Wales. Don't have a job but I'm in College doing a pubic services 2 year course, finished first year so bumming it out on summer holidays. I'm 17 turn 18 on August 24th, all of my mates have been 18 for so long so just waiting on that. Emo: Can you tell us something that no one else know's about you? Rumsey: Not really as everyone on Decerto seems to think they know everything about my private life already cause there cool. Dave: Errrr no I can't. Enoch: I'm **** scared of moths, they're creepy as ****. The downfall of Rumseys Angels? Emo: We are missing a member of the team. Can one of you introduce him? Rumsey: My name is Mike jones and I am a virgin, I have to go away 2 weeks before LAN with my mates so they dont think I am a geek going to a lan when I get back. Emo: You're flying under the name 'Rumseys Angels'. How did the team get together? Rumsey: Not really sure as me and Maji didn't really get on and I think Nova asked me on msn and I just wanted a mess about team and they all have a laugh so it fitted well. Still dont like Maji but will make sure Enoch sits in the middle at lan. Dave: He does like me really. Enoch: I'm just the massive scrando they picked up. Dave: You make us look good. Emo: What roles do you all play in the team? Rumsey: We don't really play like that. We are all about having a laugh so we all just run around like ****s, but seems to work as we all get to play the way we like and no one stresses that much, so means we just have a laugh, we are all good enough players so we just use common sense. Not going to go over strats or anything and dont expect to win ECL. I will just be happy to cause 1 upset. Enoch: Have to agree with Rumsey, no set roles. Nova was supposed to be holding player but he never did it so we just run about. Dave: Basically what they said, we all just switch around depending on whats happening. Emo: You're going off your own backs to ECL, were you tempted to join an org for the event? Rumsey: If anyone wants to pay for us to attend then why the hell not, it's very short notice and for me its not that much of a problem as I am a ref so don't have to pay. unlucky enoch and maji. WINNER. Enoch: Haha, I believe that Nova did approach a few people but nothing really took off so we just decided to book and get it all sorted. Dave: We may have been tempted had the right offer come along, I mean Dig asked us and SK asked us before The Sowersbys joined but they wouldn't budge on the salary so alas here we are. Emo: Talking about SK and the current Pacino debate, what's your opinions on this on going saga? Rumsey: Funny as ***. Fact of the matter is any situation that see's the Sowersby's getting ****ed over is a good one. Basically all thats going to happen is pacino will choke when Souths says anything to him so lets hope he does well or that team could place well below par. As for Luke he is just awful and Kermz is not proven so who knows where they will place and any mugs who actually put up with the **** Pacino pulled are clearly idiots, anyone who does that is just showing desperation, only hope is that the sisters get a 4th soon as don't want them to not attend and not get embarrassed. Enoch: I would say I feel a little sorry for the SK lot but I don't think i'm allowed to otherwise Rumsey might hurt me. Dave: I made my feeling clear in Pacino's thread, they set themselves up for this by recruiting him and them stupidly taking him back. The Rumsey approved way of telling your team mates you have left.... Emo: So there's no plans to recruit Pacino in place of the missing Mike Jones? Rumsey: I actually did kinda leave on wednesday to play with South U4ea and Swanny but half way through the scrims I messaged these two and asked to join back. I wasn't having fun at all and I forgot how annoying it is to team with South and I wasn't prepared to go down that road again. These 2 didnt mind and thankfully I came back just in time to get beat by Mx. So to answer the question NO. Enoch: What he means is he's not good enough to play at that level anymore, I'd love to play with Cino, he's a babe. In place of Rumsey rather than Mike though. Dave: Nova could not be replaced by someone as average as Pacino. Plus Enoch has enough to do with rimming me constantly, can't be rimming Pacino aswell. Emo: Rumsey, you have always been in the mindset that "Unless we are winning then there's no point". How come you have relaxed this attitude and now play for fun over victory? Rumsey: Because I went **** so had no choice. To be honest I just got bored of being stressed over a game. I am actually enjoying playing CoD4 again in this team and if I am honest I haven't enjoyed playing since before xl5. Winning is all well and good but if your stressed while doing it then its not worth it. We come online to enjoy oursleves and play a game. Emo: ECL is basically on our doorstep, what are your predicitions for the event? Rumsey: Gamerhut to be the new IX, bascially smash everyone online and then choke at LAN. Fnatic to win the event and Rumseys Angels to get ****ed alot. Dave: I honestly wouldn't want to have a guess at who would win ECL as it is to close to call but maybe at a push Royalty. Enoch: At ECL I think it will be out of Fnatic, South's team and Royalty. Reign will be up there aswell. We won't get a top 8 placement. Emo: CoD4 isn't looking great in terms of attendance, it seems the skill level is staying high but we seem to be failing to bring new blood to LAN events. Why do you think this is and how can we change it? Rumsey: You can't change it, everyone thought bringing over GB warriors would help but it doesnt it just gives a false reading of the size of the community. I still believe we will get 17 teams because as always with LANS everyone waits till the last minute to book, its stupid but thats how it seems to work. CoD4 has been out so long now this will be the last event so not much point worrying to much about it. Dave: Well a majority of the "New Blood" appear to be children that just talk alot of **** and I don't think a paper round will cover the cost of a LAN tbh. We just need everyone else that has been around a while or is considered a decent "Decerto player" to step up and attend. Enoch: A lot of teams seem to be focusing on MW2 and EGE, whether those teams would have gone ECL if that was MW2 that's a different matter. I think if Black ops PEGI under 18 then the LAN turnout for that will be huge and it's just a matter of time before new faces turn up to LAN. F***ing Sabo Rules Emo: You briefly answered before, but what are your predictions for Rumseys Angels at ECL? Rumsey: Top 6 but seriously I wouldn't care if we finished 12 aslong as we had a laugh, **** talked alot and cause a upset. Enoch: Hate to say it, but with Nova on holday before the event, me being a massive chokey conn player and Rumsey to probably leave us before the event it all depends on how well Dave plays. Dave: As with eGo at EGL we are just hoping to at least win 1 game. I know we are good enough if we all play well to cause an upset or 2 but I'm not going for a decent placement. Emo: Apart from your own team, who are you looking forward to meeting at ECL? Rumsey: Usual lot. Fnatic, Loco, Mellow, yourself and of course my best mates on Xbox the Sowersbys. Enoch: Looking forward to seeing Solace and Sheepzilla the most, then everyone at the event just want to put names to faces. Dave: Chillaz, Sam Jones and mainly Nova as I have yet to see him and I have known him since Socom. Emo: What are your expectations of the impending ECL event? Rumsey: I am hoping it will be amazing. Hope there will be alot of banter and just everyone up for a laugh, Dave: I went to Gamestop and that was just a circus I felt it was good for everyone bar the players. Was just full of completely irrelevant **** and wasn't a good atmosphere. I just hope ECL will be an all round enjoyable event both for players and spectators. Emo: Ok let's do some quick questions. Rumsey: Man Utd Dave: I've moved around way to much to support 1 team, I just watch all the games but as Stoke is the closest then them. Enoch: United Goodbye to CoD4 after ECL? Dave: Snog - Rumsey because I think he'd like it. Marry Nova as we are basically married anyway and avoid Enoch because he creaps the **** out of me.
