[EGL7] Post Event Interview With TCM Jake

After being knocked out the event in a disappointing 9-12th position, TCM Gaming's Jake took some time to talk to us about their performance. After finishing 4th last time around with Hammers, is he the linch pin that TCM rely upon?

Decerto : So you're now out of the tournament, how are you feeling?

I'm feeling ok, it's not as bad as it seems considering we had a pickup. We had minimum practice time and I feel as if we had played with Hammers then we'd of done a lot better. We didn't have a set up because Mak has a different play style to us so at times it felt like we were playing 3v4, simply due to lack of practice.

Decerto : Did you expect to finish where you did?

We probably had the easiest run out of all of the top teams, so we maybe should of done better and even beat 4Kings. Once again we didn't play to the best of our ability and lack of practice was a big issue for us.

Decerto : You're known for sometimes being your own worst enemy, dropping your heads after one loss. Do you think this happened at this event?

The one positive thing we can take from this event was our willingness to take it one map at a time and not allow our heads to drop. The addition of Mak taught us a few more things that we'll definitely take on board when Hammers returns. Mak took charge of the team and filled Hammers' role. A lot of people think we're a quiet team, however I don't particularly think we don't communicate much, it's more the fact that we rarely trash talk as we're a pretty focused team.

Decerto : After this event will you be keeping the same roster?

We're definitely keeping the same roster, from previous experiences we have learnt that changing line-ups as soon as one thing goes wrong isn't the right thing to do. Plus we have a really good thing going on with TCM and we don't want to ruin it.

Decerto : How have the TCM management been?

Only Swizz and Jim have been in attendance at this event, but they've been really supportive and helpful throughout the weekend. We did feel that we' had let them down slightly after our placement but I think they understand the situation and are looking forward to iSeries as much as us.
