With day one all going to plan, we managed to grab Ashley 'Sowerz' Sowersby for a quick interview in between games. With a 3rd placement at the last event in Blackpool, the team have a high finishing past that they'll be endeavouring to continue on with another good placement this time around.

Decerto : How are you finding the event so far?

It's a lot better than previous, the tournament is well underway on the saturday. The feature stage has been greatly improved and so has the main stage. There haven't been many upsets at the moment, a few teams like us dropped our first map but now we're just getting into it.

Decerto : What are your expectations?

If we came top 3 then we wouldn't be disappointed, but we're here to win it. I think it's wide open for any of the top 5/6 teams, if anyone places within there it's a strong result.

Decerto : Who would you say are the dark horses for this event?

I think LiNK are looking pretty good, so are Fariko.Yin.

Decerto : What are your predictions for the tournament?

Not including us. 1st Optic, 2nd FeaR, 3rd TCM, 4th SK

Decerto : How do you think the American opposition is this time around?

I think OpTic are clear favourites but they aren't as well prepared this event. From playing them online they didn't look as strong but at LAN I'm expecting their experience to show and I expect them to be stronger. As for FeaR, they're a very strong SND team, so that's going to come in handy on a BO5 series, meaning they will only have to win 1 CTF if they hold their SND's.

Decerto : Why do you think the attendance has dropped for EGL7?

I think one reason is because the last event was a lot of players' first event and due to the internet issues most of the saturday was spent idle. Not only that, but MW3 is coming towards the end of it's lifetime so a lot of players are waiting for BO2.

Decerto : How do you feel EGL have progressed along their lifetime?

For Call of duty, they've done well - it's by far the most popular title at the events. I think they need to work on building the Gears of War and Halo scene, they don't have anything as strong as Decerto so EGL could help out there, especially with new releases on the way. As for PC, I think there is enough events available for them, EGL's main selling point is that it's a console based tournament, so to focus too much on pc would lead to a fall in popularity.

Decerto : Cheers for the interview Sowerz, any shootouts?

Shout out to the proph managers Andy and Oli, my team mates, the sponsors Razer, AOC and Red Bull, also follow me on twitter @iSowerz, i'll be updating it throughout the event. Cheers for the interview!
