I havent done much reading up on the tourny details just yet but say you lost your first match, are you then out or do you enter the losers bracket? Would be hard to swallow paying £60 to maybe get two unlucky losses and be out, guess theres no way around that really. Hard to go about doing this kind of project when theres so few teams in the likely to win bracket.

the prices are gonna make a lot of newcomers not go to this LAN.

all the people who have been LAN before say "yeah that is a sick price", but the people who have been LAN already and loved it shouldnt be the people your targeting. you should be targeting newcomers to LAN, and with them prices you will scare most of them off.

especially when its cod4 there, and the only people who play cod4 properly are on this website, and theres not many.

i dont like to be negative but hardly anyones going to go now.

I agree with the first bit. But i still reckon more people will go.
Its pricey but, its not completly unrealistic. There must be some heavy costs going into putting this on and props to that. players and community have to come to terms with the the fact they have an expensive hobby/sport

If I was sure that cod4 would get 20 teams there I would be up for it even more but I know that their won't be many teams there. My team are still going even if 50 is pricey. 1st Time Lan Come on :D haha

£60 is pennies, you can get that in a days work in the ****test part time job available. If you want to go, man up. People are bringing out excuses again.

Guys, let me make something clear. You're not paying for XL or EGL, you're paying for Europe's answer to MLG. It's going to be an experience in it's own right, not just a weekend laugh with a few mates. You all know that Mellow and myself are onboard with the ECL team now, we've been to so many LANs around the world, we would never let the prices be anything other than fair.

Im still planning on going providing my lift up there is still on but £50 is alot of money to shell out on what would props just be a few games of Fifa for me, and thats not including hotel, fuel, drinks etc.

I mean surely if you put the entry fee's down to around the £25-30 mark it would give more incentive for lan noobs (like myself) to attend, meaning more people and possibly more money. Just my 2 cents.

just to let everyone know, shane mckerral aka ratman has joined the gym to get massive time before the event so know one picks on him.

OT - i have a feeling a few people may dodge using the excuse that its to expensive like trainee said. I WONDER who itll be ;)

    Prices are ok.

People all kicked off about the price of I series and said that they would boycott it and everything and they had to lower the prices then ECL have basically the same prices. meh.

People need to stop saying man up, attending a gaming event isn't the definition of manning up.

it doesnt matter what you think is fair.

all that matters is how the people who are thinking about attending see it.

anyway i hope ECL does amazing, and it will, just not on COD4
