I'm just writing this as day one comes to a close here at CoDXP in Los Angeles. We've been in the event since early this morning and so I just wanted to say a few words about the event and the on-goings inside. Firstly they have clearly put so much money into this event and how it looks, if any of you attended the CoDXP qualifier in London just imagine that and times it by 100. As you walk into the venue you have the big hall that hosted the keynote speech and tonight will host the band Drop Kick Murphys and tomorrow Kayne will appear also. They've had a few Q&A sessions in here also with various celebrities and personalities who have been talking about games. You can view all the videos I imagine after the event on the CoD XP website. The other hall is where all the action is with hundreds of consoles playing MW3 on both multiplayer and spec ops. In the centre of the hall is a raised area with a stage and various competition stations. There is quite a few people looking around and there is some seats on the side so people can watch it on the big screens that are showing the games. Hastro and Fwiz are commentating on the games behind the teams as they go on. There is various other stuff inside such as a Black Ops area for zombies and various stands for different companies such as Mountain Dew and Xbox. The atmosphere is quite jovial and there is a real sense of community here. Everyone's nice and I really can't see this being a one time thing, I would be hugely surprised if they don't do this again next year. I really think they are going to make this into like a mecca for CoD gamers and I personally can't wait to see another one. Yes the rules aren't perfect for the tournament but at the same time all of the players here have gained a free trip to LA so no one can complain. It's been an awesome event so far and there is still another day to go for most, unfortunately tomorrow I will be heading home mid-afternoon so we won't be able to cover the end of the tournament. However it is likely that the games will be streamed and the XP website will be updated by the staff here. Remember to check out our Flickr HERE.
Nice review, they did say at the start of the stream tonight "Welcome ot the FIRST Call of Duty XP event", so lets hope this is the first of many. Rules aside, the event seems pretty good so far, so jel.

if they do it with a competitive ruleset next time, like get @Emotion and some MLG guys over there before the event and then work out some sort of ruleset, as personally, Infinity should've won imo because optic were scrubbing it with the heartbeat sensors
