It seems that the community in Australia just seems to be supporting the game more and more now, with last week CyberGamer hosting an online tournament with 32 teams registered & paid for. Surprisingly there were several PS3 teams making the jump over to compete in the tournament. Once again everyone expected the two titan teams apeX & Mindfreak to meet in the grand final, however this was not the case as PS3 team Reborn.Immortal took out the Mindfreak lineup to advance to the loser bracket final, where Carnage.Razer advanced to face apeX in the grand final. Carnage is a team many players have kept an eye on since their convincing games at the recent ACL Melbourne LAN, and they proved suspicions right as they plundered on through the tournament into the grand final and put up a great series against apeX, unfortunately losing and taking second place. Along with Mindfreak, promising teams Reborn & auRa formed the remaining top 5, forcing 'pro' team Cruelty Incarnate into a disappointing 6th place - although known as the forever 3rd team.
